Academic Radiologist – Thoracic/Chest

The University of Missouri’s School of Medicine, Department of Radiology, chaired by Dr. Talissa Altes, is expanding and searching for a full-time Thoracic Radiologist to join our growing radiology practice. This is an excellent career opportunity for candidates just starting their careers, as well as experienced candidates to join a thriving academic radiology department.

About MU Radiology:

Faculty in our Thoracic division have responsibilities in cardiopulmonary radiology, including conventional radiographs with a full complement of advanced imaging, including CT and MRI. Involvement in a variety of multidisciplinary conferences is expected. Our Thoracic radiologists enjoy very collaborative relationships with referring providers and participate in multidisciplinary conferences.

  • Join a department of 26 radiologists
  • Responsibilities are:
    • ~80% clinical
    • ~10% Teaching/education
    • ~10% Administration
  • Chest Call – Q6
  • Equipment is state-of-the-art and includes 2- 3T Siemens MRI scanners and 3 - 1.5T Siemens MRI scanners. 1.5 and 3T GE MRI Scanners.  Additional 3T and 7T Siemens MRI scanners are opening in October 2021 at our new NextGen Precision Health imaging facility.
  • We offer opportunities to assist in the department's growth, the education of medical students, and diagnostic radiology residents and fellows across eight radiology fellowship programs, including a Cardiothoracic fellowship, as well as research and scholarly activities.
  • All ranks available – commensurate with experience
  • Non-tenure track


MD/DO, Board-certified or board-eligible in radiology and fellowship-trained in thoracic radiology. For the purposes of this application, board-certified/board-eligible physicians are considered experienced.
